We all strive to lead a dignified life
Dignity plays a major role in our day to day life
Dignity in earning
Dignity in relationships
Dignity in growing old
When we grow old
When our health doesn't cooperate
When we require others for basic bodily needs
When we lost all hope for an independent life
When we are at the mercy of others
The dignity is stripped away layer by layer
And
We are left naked, both body and soul.
So where is dignity in dying?
Is it embracing death contently
That I lived mine and you live yours.
Is this the way of showing dignity to the living
that the end is not fearful.
Caregivers
We ensure that we emphasize
The dignity while living.
But what about
Dignity in dying?
Why we are reluctant to
Send our dear ones in a dignified way
Why we just prolong their life?
Which is Invasive and painful to them
Why We are unable to let them go?
Are we unable to cut the emotional bonding
Or
Are we emotionally stable by holding on to them
Or
Our life's meaning is dependent on them
Or
Are we conditioned to feel guilty for letting them go
Why can't we make their last journey
Painless, dignified, emotinally less draining and soul enriching to them as well us.
Dignity in dying is as important as dignity in living
